By downloading, installing, or using NetSpect, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms are entered into between Crosspoint X, a Delaware Corporation, and you. By using NetSpect, you acknowledge that you are at least 13 years old, you have read and understand this entire agreement, you accept these Terms, and you accept our Privacy Policy.
NetSpect helps a group of people organise pickup basketball and records who actually turned up. The App provides: group creation and membership; calling a run at a court, now or on a future day; invite links that let other people join a run; a group chat; a map of courts with an indication of how busy each one has been; a list of people you have played with; and automatic check-in, which uses your device's location to confirm that you arrived at the court.
A run may be marked 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5. That is a display target only — it does not reserve a place, does not stop anyone else joining, and does not guarantee a game of that size or any game at all.
NetSpect coordinates people. It does not supply courts, referees, equipment, insurance, or supervision, and it is not a party to any game you arrange through it. The App is provided "AS-IS" without guarantees of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.
An invite link works for anyone who holds it. It is not tied to a phone number, an email address, or a person, and it can be forwarded on indefinitely by anyone who receives it. Whoever opens a valid link can join that run, and joining a run through a link also makes that person a member of the group that called it.
That is the intended behaviour, not a loophole — it is how a run gets filled by a friend of a friend. It also means you are responsible for who you send a link to and where it ends up. If you do not want someone in your group, do not send them a link and do not post one publicly.
A link can be turned off. The person who created a link can revoke it, and the person who called the run can revoke any link to it. Revoking stops future joins; it does not remove anyone who has already joined. Group membership is one group at a time — joining a new group through a link means leaving the one you are in.
Anything you type into a group chat, and any name you give yourself, a group, or a run, is content you are responsible for. You keep your rights to it and grant us permission to store and display it to the people it is addressed to, in order to operate the App.
You may not post content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, or that impersonates somebody else, and you may not use chat to advertise or to solicit. We do not review messages before they are sent. We can remove content and suspend or terminate accounts for violations of this section, at our discretion and without notice.
To report a message or a person, email pointxcross@gmail.com with the group name and roughly when it was sent. We aim to respond within three business days and will act on credible reports of the conduct listed above. Chat is scoped to a single group: messages are visible to that group's members, and removing a member does not delete messages they already sent, because those messages are also part of other members' history.
The App shows public courts on a map, with an indication of how busy each has been recently. That indication is aggregated: it is derived from how many distinct people checked in, never from who they were, and a court with fewer than three distinct people in the period is reported as having no activity rather than a small number. It is not a live feed of who is at a court, and it should not be read as one.
The App also shows you the names of people you have previously played with, so you can invite them again. They see your name on the same basis.
Courts listed in the App are real, public places we did not inspect and do not control. Availability, condition, safety, lighting, opening hours and legality of access are entirely outside our knowledge. A court appearing in NetSpect is not a recommendation and not permission to be there.
Credits are an accountability mechanism attached to the group-versus-group match feature, which is NOT part of the current version of the App. No feature you can reach today spends, holds, or returns a credit, and no credit has ever been sold.
If the match feature is reintroduced, credits work as follows: they are non-refundable, reusable, and required to accept a match; accepting reserves one credit until the match completes or is cancelled; checking in at the court releases it; failing to check in after accepting means it is not returned. This section stays here so the behaviour is on the record before that feature returns, not because it is running now.
We use GPS to detect arrival at a court, and to confirm you are still there while a run is under way so that time at the court is measured rather than assumed. That confirmation happens opportunistically, when the App is already awake — it is not a continuous stream and we do not track your movement between courts. We verify your location server-side, comparing it to expected court coordinates, before releasing your reserved credit. GPS is not 100% accurate: expect an error margin of roughly ±20–50 feet depending on weather, buildings, or dense foliage, and geofencing may not detect arrival with a weak signal or delayed/disabled location permission. We are not liable for GPS inaccuracy, missed check-ins due to poor signal, false positives, or device/user-caused location failures.
If you believe your credit was incorrectly withheld after a match, contact us within 7 days with your match ID, the date/time, and why you believe you were at the court. We'll review your device's GPS logs, court location records, and server-side verification data. If we confirm you were likely there, we'll restore your credit; if inconclusive, we may restore it at our discretion; if we determine it was correctly withheld, it stands.
You agree to provide accurate information, only join runs you intend to attend, arrive on time, treat other players with respect, use the App lawfully, and keep location enabled while a run you joined is under way.
You may not spoof your GPS location or otherwise fake a check-in, join runs with no intent to play, harass or discriminate against other users, post content prohibited under "Group Chat & User Content", publish invite links somewhere you would not personally invite people from, share your account, use the App illegally, or reverse-engineer or attack the App or its servers.
The App is free. Nothing in it can be purchased, there is no subscription, and there is nothing to refund.
Games are called and attended by people. A run being cancelled, rained off, or poorly attended is not a billable event and produces no refund, because no charge was ever attached to it.
If we introduce a paid feature it will have its own terms, covering billing, cancellation and refunds, published before anyone can be charged.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crosspoint X assumes no liability for injuries or damages related to matches arranged through the App (including physical injury, property damage, or death), disputes between players, GPS/location failures preventing credit release or check-in, service interruptions, data loss, third-party conduct, credits not returned for any reason, other groups' match decisions, court conditions, or check-in accuracy disputes (except as covered under Disputes & Appeals above.
Your use of NetSpect is entirely at your own risk. Basketball carries inherent injury risk; we don't provide insurance, liability protection, or medical coverage; you're solely responsible for your own safety and conduct at facilities you choose. The App is provided "AS-IS" without warranty of any kind — we don't warrant it will be error-free, uninterrupted, always available, secure, or compatible with all devices. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim will never exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. The App is free to use, so for most users that figure is one hundred dollars. Weather forecasts shown in the App come from Apple Weather and can be wrong; they are a guide, not a guarantee, and whether conditions are safe to play in is your call.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Crosspoint X harmless from claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use or misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms or any law, disputes with other players, injuries during matches, or other claims related to your conduct.
You can delete your account at any time through the App settings — this is a permanent deletion, not a deactivation. Your account, profile, attendance records, invite links you created, and any credit history are permanently deleted, you are removed from your group, and future location data is not collected. If you signed in with Apple, deletion also revokes the App's Apple sign-in token, so the connection between your Apple ID and NetSpect is severed rather than left dangling. Some records shared with other users (chat messages you sent, or the outcome of a completed match) aren't retroactively altered, since they're also part of other members' shared history.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, repeatedly join runs and fail to turn up, fake a check-in, engage in harassment, post content prohibited above, or violate any law. Termination is at our sole discretion; upon termination your account is permanently closed, any credits in your account are not returned, and you lose access to all App features.
Crosspoint X owns all rights to the NetSpect name, logo, App code, design, and content. You retain rights to information you provide (group names, match details) but grant Crosspoint X permission to use it to operate the App. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App, or remove/alter copyright notices.
We may update these Terms or App features at any time. We'll notify you of material changes within the App or via email; continued use means you accept the new Terms — if you don't accept, you must stop using the App.
Before pursuing legal action, contact us at pointxcross@gmail.com (subject: "Dispute Resolution Request") to resolve disputes informally — describe the issue, match ID (if applicable), and requested resolution; we'll respond within 7 business days.
By using NetSpect, you agree that any dispute or claim arising from these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration, not in court, under American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules, taking place in Newark, Delaware. You waive the right to a jury trial and to a class action lawsuit. Arbitration does not apply to claims for injunctive relief, intellectual property infringement, or breach of confidentiality.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision is severed and reformed to the minimum extent necessary, while the rest remain in effect. Together with our Privacy Policy, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and Crosspoint X — no other agreement is valid unless signed by an officer of Crosspoint X.
